About Me
I grew up in Illinois in the Chicago-area. Bloomington has been my home since 1993. I like to walk, bike, and bus around town; I avoid driving. My education and career have unfolded thus far as follows: I studied biochemistry, science education, and dance. My first professional job was with IUB Chemistry. Desiring more contact with students, I became an academic advisor for Chemistry in 2003 and then for University Division in 2007. I started performing dance semi-professionally in 2007 and teaching dance in 2009.
Her Thoughts on the Workshop Series
We advisors love when students come to their appointments having already begun to use the academic planning tools. That way when we meet with you, we can spend more time talking about you and your plans and goals and less about the technical aspects of registration.

Freshman IU Peer Coach
About Me
I am a freshman studying finance and informatics. I am involved in intramural basketball and am interested in greek life and the Student Foundation. I am from Nobesville, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis, and hope to study abroad and someday live outside of the United States.
His Thoughts on the Workshop Series
As a freshman, if I were not part of the IU Peer Coach program, I don't think I would know how to use iGPS as well or how to complete the new Worksheet. I'm glad the IUPC's and advisors have decided to host this Workshop Series, because it's a great way for us to help freshman start planning for their major and be prepared for their future advising appointments.

About Me
I am originally from Noblesville, Indiana, before coming to Bloomington to attend Indiana University. I am a junior pursuing a degree in Telecommunications with an emphasis on industry and management and a minor in Business. In addition to my studies, I am also a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a nationally recognized co-ed service fraternity and an active volunteer in my community.
Her Thoughts on the Workshop Series
As a Junior looking back, I would have really appreciated a casual event like this to help me learn how to better use the class planning system (iGPS). I'm glad we now have this event and that I will be able to particpate and help younger students learn how to use iGPS as they start to complete their Worksheets.

About Me
I'm currently a junior in the Kelley School of Business. I'm a future CPA double majoring in Accounting and Finance with hopes to one day work for a CPA firm. Outside my involvement with the IU Peer Coaches, I also serve as an accounting exam proctor. While school keeps me very busy, any free time left in the week is most likely spent with my friends or at a concert.
His Thoughts on the Workshop Series
There are so many resources on IU’s campus that go untapped and it makes me wonder how better off students would be if they utilized them more effectively... I think these Workshops will be one of those great resources for undergraduates on campus.

About Me
I'm a freshman majoring in Computer Science. My family came from the Soviet Union, so I grew up in a bilingual home speaking both English and Russian. I come from the small historic town of Madison, Indiana where I've lived all my life until now. I hope to one day become a software developer for an interesting company.
Her Thoughts on the Workshop Series
I think the best part about this Series is that all five Workshops are located throughout the IU dorm neighborhoods. It's great because freshmen can easily drop by after class and get help planning for next semester (and get free Baked! cookies and pizza).

About Me
I view advising as helping students find a good fit between their interests and the curriculum. My educational background is in the liberal arts. I earned an A.B. from Vassar College and a M.A. from the University of Minnesota. I have advised in University Division since 1982 and am a recipient of an Outstanding Academic Advisor award. Besides advising I enjoy reading contemporary fiction, studying foreign languages, word games and travel.
Her Thoughts on the Workshop Series
The iGPS suite of functions enables such seamless interface with some very key tasks of your college career – degree planning, course selection, schedule building and enrollment – that building your skill in working with these tools will help you feel in better control over your college experience. You might be surprised how much you can accomplish with iGPS!

About Me
I began working as an Academic Advisor in University Division in June of 2014. Before then, I completed my undergraduate education at Penn State University, where I earned a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Crime, Law, and Justice. While there, I realized that I wanted to work in higher education supporting students striving to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals, which is why I pursued my M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University.
His Thoughts on the Workshop Series
It is essential that students learn how to use the academic planning tools early in their time at IU Bloomington. These tools will not only help you select your future classes, but using them will allow you to begin to create a plan to make the most out of your IU education. The workshops are an excellent opportunity to learn how to use these tools from your fellow peers who utilize them for their own academic planning.

While there are 34 University Divsion advisors and 40 IU Peer Coaches who will be helping at these Workshops, we have showcased 8 of these campus leaders below.
Feel free to read about your peers and advisors, to get to know a little more about them and why their excited to help you at the Workshops. If you'd like to see lists of the rest of the leadership team, click the links at the bottom of this page.
